Reiki classes and certification.
Small groups, capped at six. Online, in person, or hybrid.
I teach the three traditional degrees of Usui Reiki — the same structured, research-informed curriculum I use in hospital settings. Groups are capped at six students, so there is time for everyone to practice and to ask.
Classes run online, through the Town of Avon, and at Hartford Hospital.
How classes are held.
- Small group, in person. One full day.
- Small group, online. Three two-hour classes on consecutive weeks. Two schedule tracks — Wednesday evenings 6–8pm, or Tuesday mornings 10am–12pm. The content is identical; choose the one that fits your week.
- Small group, hybrid. Two days, part in person and part online.
- Private, one-on-one. Scheduled around you, at your pace.
Attunements can be given in person or remotely. Both work.
Prices
- Reiki I, small group — $300
- Reiki II, small group — $300 — $250 if you took Reiki I with me within the past year
- Reiki I or Reiki II, private one-on-one — $500
- Reiki Master — $600
- Reiki Master Teacher — $900 — $800 if you took Reiki Master with me within the past year
For the returning-student rate, write to me before you register and I will send you the link. I keep a record of every student I certify, so there is nothing you need to prove.

The three degrees
What each level teaches.
Reiki I — practicing on yourself
Reiki I is where the practice begins, and the first person you practice on is yourself. We cover where Reiki came from and what is actually known about it, the aura and the chakras, the attunement, and the full sequence of hand positions for self-treatment. We discuss the common misconceptions and how to recognize and address them. You leave able to practice daily on yourself and to offer Reiki to family and friends.
No prior experience needed, and nothing in the class asks you to believe anything in particular.
After the attunement you begin the 21-day self-healing: one complete self-session daily for twenty-one consecutive days, recorded in your journal.
Certificate. Issued on completion of the class. The 21-day self-healing carries on afterwards, and the follow-up period covers exactly that stretch, which is when the questions tend to arrive.
Reiki II — practicing with others, and at a distance
Level II introduces the three traditional symbols and what each is for: strengthening the practice, working with emotional and mental difficulty, and sending Reiki across distance. We also cover how to structure a session for someone else, what to say and what never to promise, consent and record-keeping, and where this work belongs alongside medical care.
Prerequisite. Reiki I, in any lineage, with a minimum of one month of established daily self-practice. Readiness is assessed together — the sign is that self-Reiki has become second nature.
Reiki III — Master and Master Teacher
The Master degree can be taken in two stages. Master Practitioner adds the Master symbols — Dai Ko Myo in both its traditional and spiral forms, and the Tibetan Master symbol with Raku — together with the Master attunement, for depth in your own practice. Master Teacher adds the ability to attune students and to teach all three degrees: the full attunement procedures for Levels I, II and Master, how to hold a class and pace it, the ethics of the teacher–student relationship, protection of the symbols, and the practical side of running a practice or a school.

Prerequisite. Reiki II, with several months to a year of consistent documented practice on yourself and others. Readiness is assessed together, not assumed.
A Reiki Master is not one who has finished learning, but one who has committed to never stop.
What you leave with.
The attunement for your degree. The CSR manual for that degree. A certificate recording your complete lineage back to Mikao Usui. And up to two months of follow-up by phone or email as your practice settles — the questions that matter usually arrive after the class ends, not during it.
For hospitals and clinics.
Staff training follows the same curriculum with three additions. The research component is expanded — what has been studied, what the evidence supports, and what it does not. Documentation is taught as a skill: how to record a Reiki encounter so that it belongs in a medical chart. And we work through the boundary question directly — where Reiki should be kept separate from clinical care, where it can be integrated, and how to tell the difference at the bedside.
This is for people already working in healthcare who will be practicing inside an institution. Arrangements are made with the institution. Alongside staff training I also take on program development, consultation for existing programs, and speaking.
